Evaluation & Reflection

 Week1:19/02/2024

For the beginning of the FMP I created my mind map and I had used Photoshop and researched my topic to help my understand what my work should consist of and what I can improve on it.

Week2:26/02/2024

For this week I had to create my google form and send it around as part of my primary research. With that I had to find creative questions to ask my fellow pupils that links back to my FMP theme which is identity. And I had to use google to research documentaries that have the same theme and are alike to what I would want to create as my FMP theme and see how I could use those as inspiration and learn about them.

Week3:04/03/2024

For this week I had to write about what I had done so far on my blog and reflect on the work by looking over all that I have done and see what I can change around to improve my work and I had to start my Pecha Kucha research and create the slides with that I had to research and think about things that linked to the FMP theme and what relates to my work to add to the slides that can help me explain my work a lot better.

Week4:11/03/2024

For this week I had to have finished my proposal and timetable to help my structure out my work and also reflect on the work that I had done so far. With my proposal and timetable I had to think about how I could plan out my work to fit the time slot that I had to complete my work on time and for it to be done to the best of my ability. 

Week5:18/03/2024

For this week I had to present my Pecha Kucha in front of my fellow pupils and receive feedback on the different ways I could improve my work and get their opinions on the topic that I have chosen and with that helped me to make some adjustments with my work and change around some of my initial ideas. And I had used my proposal to help with FMP. 

Week6:25/03/2024

For this week I had added to my reflections about the work I had done so far and seen what I can also improve on. Whilst assessing my work I had receive feedback about some of my secondary research to discuss more about the genre of the film that I will be creating and to go in detail about how I will plan out my recording. 

Week7:15/04/2024

I had continued with my project planning and assessing the general idea of what I had been doing and what i could improve on throughout my project. next week I would be aiming at continuing to finish my research.

Week8:22/04/2024

I continued with my research and I am planning to start filming next week. Whilst planning for the filming I had a look at the weather forecast and I had noticed that the day I had wanted to film it was going to be raining, as a result I had to relocate my shoot.

Week9:29/04/2024

During the planning of my FMP i was looking at the places where I could film my project and who I will be interviewing. Some of the people I will interview are Chay, Jonathan, Hannah, Ibrahim, Eoin and Thomas. This gives me an opportunity to get different views from different cultures and backgrounds for my film.  I am ahead of schedule as I had started filming earlier which means it gives more flexibility with post-production. 

Week10:06/05/2024

I had booked all of my equipment that I would be needing. Also I was looking at the different locations that I would be filming my project however, due to the different environments have people and unnecessary noise therefore i had chosen to stick with the studio as it is the most reliable location to film and therefore I had to change my initial idea.

Week11:13/05/2024

I had filmed my FMP and managed to also edit it within the same week. I had created my rough cut and had used premiere pro to edit my work, I had showed some of my fellow pupils my rough cut and received some  feedback and therefore, I had used that feedback to re-edit my FMP and I was happy with the final outcome which means that by the end of this week. I should have finished all my practical work and I will be needing to start my overall evaluation of the FMP and edit any other work that needs to happen.

Week12:20/05/2024

As I had managed to finish all practical work last week, which means that this week I will be editing all of the theory work that may need some changes and starting my final evaluation, which means by the end of this week I will be done with all of my work which means I had finished in the exact time I was given. By the day of the exhibition which is on the 10/06/2024 I will be prepping for my project to be shown in the exhibition.

Evaluation of Poster:

Whilst looking at the different designs that I could use to create my poster. I had chosen to go with a minimalist modern look that goes straight to the point. The structure at the back is an important historical structure which related to culture and background which links to the theme of identity. Researching different ideas that I could use to create the poster. The minimalist look also gives it a modern look that could engage different audiences from different backgrounds and different age groups.

Initially, I was going ahead with a cartoony vibe that could attract young teens. I had thought otherwise as I was talking to other pupils my age and a lot of them seem not to know a lot about their culture and background which made me think of the ways I could create my poster to attract those of my age therefore, I had changed my mind from going to the animated look would not bring late teens and early 20's people would look in to the documentary as they would think it would be too childish or not as modern as to the things that they could have seen. That is the reason I had that made me change my initial idea.

I think I had managed to hit the objective or modern and minimalist look perfectly. The ancient structure that was used in the background plays a major part in Persian culture at the same time the simple text keeps it short and modest with the font colour adding a little ancient tone to the poster which relates to a history side of culture and background. However, one problem that i had faced would be the fact that even it is simple and straight to the point its to simple and if i had more time I would add more detail within the poster to add more detail which could make it seem more interesting and fascinating. Overall, I think the poster came out perfect and if I had a chance to recreate it, I would add more detail and more text to make it more informant as it could explain the documentary a lot more.
